The Legal Assistance Terms and Privacy Policy

The Legal Assistance (“Company”/ “we”/ “us”) is a technology-powered, integrated platform providing legal advice and enabling the delivery of a comprehensive range of legal services through its platform. Based on representations made by Associates and to enable The Legal Assistance to access these services, the Parties have agreed that:
(i) The Legal Assistance shall authorize and provide Associates access to the platform, and
(ii) Associates shall provide services to The Legal Assistance’s clients.

1. Definitions

As used in this Agreement, terms with their first letter capitalized shall, unless the context otherwise requires, have the following meanings:

  • “Applicable Laws”: Any laws, by-laws, statutes, regulations, rules, orders, judgments, or governmental approvals that may apply, as amended from time to time.
  • “Agreement/Main Agreement”: This Agreement, including all recitals, annexures, exhibits, schedules, and policies, as modified or amended.
  • “The Legal Assistance”: The legal entity providing a variety of legal services through skilled lawyers.
  • “Associate”: A lawyer using The Legal Assistance’s platform to provide services to clients.
  • “Authorized Persons”: Individuals authorized by The Legal Assistance to represent it.
  • “Brand Features”: Trade names, trademarks, logos, or other identifiers used by The Legal Assistance.
  • “The Legal Assistance Officer(s)”: Employees, consultants, advisors, or any personnel engaged by The Legal Assistance.
  • “Customer”/“Client”: A user or client of The Legal Assistance, including those accessing services via the platform.
  • “Confidential Information”: Information disclosed by The Legal Assistance or a client that is considered confidential or protected by applicable laws. This includes information related to clients, case details, or platform content. It does not include information:
    (a) already known by the recipient,
    (b) made public without fault,
    (c) independently developed, or
    (d) lawfully provided by a third party.
  • “Services”: The list of legal services provided by The Legal Assistance, as mentioned on the website.

2. Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to all services provided by The Legal Assistance and its affiliates. It does not apply to services that are governed by separate privacy policies. The policy is issued in compliance with the Information Technology Act and relevant rules.

The Legal Assistance takes privacy seriously and ensures the transparency of how personal data is handled. This Privacy Policy does not cover services offered by external companies or linked websites.

3. Collection of Information

We automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Traffic Data: IP addresses, domain servers, browser types, referring sources, and interactions with the site.
  • Personal Data: If you provide it, such as your email address for updates or newsletters.
  • Device Data: Information about the apps, browsers, and devices you use to access the platform, including device type, settings, operating system, and unique identifiers.

This data helps us improve platform functionality and ensure secure access to our services.

4. Collection of Sensitive Data

We do not store sensitive financial data, such as bank card information. Third-party service providers handling payments may collect and store such information per their own policies.

5. Website Analytics

We use third-party analytics tools to improve site usability. These services do not track personal information but may help us identify and address usability issues.

6. Storage of Information

We store all traffic data indefinitely, even after deletion, and may archive it. Personal information is stored until a modification or deletion request is made. Some residual data may remain due to technical limitations.

7. Use of Data Collected

Your data may be shared with third-party service providers, associates, and contractors who have signed non-disclosure agreements to ensure privacy while providing you with a complete service experience.

8. Retention of Data

Personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, in compliance with applicable laws. We may delete data earlier once the purpose has been achieved.

9. How Information Will Be Used

Personal information, such as your case history (optional), is collected for consultation purposes and shared with consulting lawyers to provide informed responses. We may also use de-identified personal information for statistical research and analysis, which will not be directly tied to you.

Your email will primarily be used to:

  • Provide the services offered by the platform
  • Customize and improve your user experience

In some cases, non-personal information will be used for statistical analysis and improvements to services, website design, and content.

10. Security

We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information, including multiple layers of firewall security and encryption for sensitive data.

Employees and associates may share case information internally to provide efficient services. In some situations, third parties, such as maintenance contractors, may access personal data but are required to maintain confidentiality.

We will share your case information when necessary to comply with legal requirements, such as court orders. If your information is disclosed in a manner not aligned with this Privacy Policy, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you as soon as possible.

11. Updates and Changes to This Privacy Policy

As privacy protection is an evolving area, The Legal Assistance reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
